Leo and Tracey teach the social, improvised Argentine Tango. They have their own teaching methodology which makes it fun to learn and understand the basics of Tango. The Tango Fandango School was formed in 2001 when Leo arrived from Buenos Aires.
Established first in London, Leo ran one of London’s longest running milongas, ‘El Portenito’ Milonga at the Bedford, Balham in South West London, where many famous dancers and musicians were invited to teach, perform and play over a period of 15 years. Following El Portenito with Tracey, he subsequently went on to run the La Perla Milonga in Putney too for a further 5 years.
Leo is from a Tango family and he has danced Tango since a young boy. Tracey has danced Tango for over 20 years but has been taught exclusively by Leo for the last 15 years.
They are one of the few teaching couples in the UK to be able to teach and dance all the styles of Argentine Tango: Canyengue / Orillero / Milonguero / Tango Salon / Nuevo and all the rhythms: Tango / Tango Vals / Tango Milonga / Tango Foxtrot.
They have taught and performed in some of the UK’s most prestigious venues including the Tower Ballroom in Blackpool, and the London Waldorf Hilton, where they produced their show ‘Postcards of Tango’ and the famous Tango Supper for 5 years.
Since moving to Dorset in 2016, they have concentrated on their School and their Tango events now run around the UK. They organise 2 Festivals a year in prestigious venues but never forget their grass roots and their love of Tango, trying to encourage as many people as possible to join the Tango community and experience the friendship and fun produced by this wonderful dance.
Their methodology, is explained in their newly revised book 'The ABC of Argentine Tango', which is unique in the Tango community. It consists of 72 pages of technique and detailed explanation and costs £15 per copy plus £5 P+P.
Our students say this about us.
I always love going to Leo and Tracey's classes, Milongas and weekenders. I learn a huge amount and they are lovely, friendly, helpful, professional and superb teachers and dancers.
